It’s been so much fun having pink hair I must say BUT man it’s high maintenance • looking forward to just getting out of bed and being “ready to go” from a hair point of view (for a while anyway!)

Last week of pink hair

Monday 14th Feb

Hello and BIG thanks to everyone for all your support so far.

We are down to the pointy end • almost time for the egg head to appear!

Am I getting nervous? Yes a little bit! Am I excited to not have pink hair any more ? A little bit! Am I going to make some scrub hats this week? I’m going to try!

Thanks for all the support so far you guys have been simply amazing.

We have reached our initial goal of $1,500 and even passed the second goal of $2,000 my aim is that we get to $2,500 by SUNDAY xx

Two updates in one day • scandalous 😂🙏🏻

Wednesday 9th Feb

So today I took my pink hair off to donate blood!!

All the ladies in my local donor van commented on my hair and it enabled us to have a conversation about why I’m doing it. It is also something they are very aware of and they’re also always on the lookout for new donors >> plug >> if you have blood and are eligible please donate • we need you more than ever x

I work in healthcare as a nurse we give blood to patients all the time • so being O- I try to donate every 3 months! Because Anyone can receive my blood!

The kids going through their cancer treatment also often need blood so if it is something you can do I would highly recommend it ❤️

I continued the pink themes after and had a Rocky Road (pink) packet and a pink lemonade kombucha 😵‍💫 hhmmm living on the edge. I don’t think kombucha is for me. 😂 but it’s good to try new things.

Not long to go!

Wednesday 9th Feb

Wow time flies when you’re having fun!

Time check >> Less than TWO WEEKS till ALL my locks are gone.

I Took my pink hair to the beach again yesterday. We didn’t swim as I’ve just “refreshed” it and I want it to last as much as possible until shave day 🤭 however some of my skin is now pink too! Whoops forgot to use enough sunblock - I will have to pop it on my head too after 20.02.22 🥚

Three weeks!!

Hello again beautiful humans

Well today marks THREE weeks until my number ZERO buzz cut. I’ve been asked if I’m nervous • at the moment NO but I know I will be.

Reality is setting in!!

Friday 28th Jan

So today marks 23 days until my number ZERO hair cut!

🥚

So I googled how fast / slow hair grows

If you didn’t know it’s >>>

0.5 an inch a month….

My hair is currently 14 inches long

So that means we all better hope I look good with no hair 😳😂😂

On a serious note though • If me colouring and cutting my hair raises awareness / funds for childrens cancer research then it is all worthwhile.

Kids going through cancer treatment don’t have a choice regarding their hair but I DO and honestly it’s the least I can do.

When you forget you have pink hair!!

Tuesday 25th Jan

Well if only it was as easy for the families going through a kids cancer journey to forget their child has cancer as it is for me to forget I have pink hair!

We went over to Bribie Island yesterday for a beach walk and fish n chips looking at the ocean. It was only after I looked at the photos I remembered I had pink hair!!

Thanks to all of my wonderful donors so far and extra big love for all of you who have shared my FB posts and links on your own social media pages.

I really wish that this fundraising was not necessary and that childhood cancer did not exist. BUT maybe with all the research undertaken it might become easier to find cures and all families can have a happy outcome.

First day at work with “the new do”

What a journey!

Well as I was “dyeing” to tell you >> i did it - it was a rollercoaster but I FINALLY achieved the look I was after 💖💖 I am now the proud owner of some VERY VIBRANT locks for the next month…. Then I’ll be the proud owner of a nice bald head!
