Your impact
At Children’s Cancer Institute, our belief is that a life should be long. That every child should have the chance to grow up and grow old. To plan exciting futures, chase their dreams, and fulfil their potential.
But cancer cuts life short for hundreds of children every year, before they’ve even had the chance to make their mark. Here in Australia, 86 kids are diagnosed with cancer each month.
Everything we do at Children’s Cancer Institute is about helping more kids with cancer not only survive, but go on to live long, healthy lives.
When you join 86K for a Cure, you walk or run for the 86 children who are diagnosed with cancer each month.
Every step you take, every kilometre you conquer will support vital research to pioneer safer, more targeted treatments for children with cancer, because every child deserves the chance to plan exciting futures, chase their dreams and fulfil their potential.
Together, we can and we will cure every child of cancer. It’s not if, it’s when.

I can't imagine what families must go through after learning their child has cancer. I’m therefore dedicating my 86km challenge to the 86 kids diagnosed with cancer each month in Australia. If we keep up this momentum, medical research will progress so that each new generation of children will receive significantly better care and treatment.

My dedication for Joseph Kearsley and Levi Chandler
I’m dedicating my 86km challenge to someone special to find a cure for childhood cancer. My son Joseph battled Rhabdomyosarcoma and dithe whole 21 months with such grace and strength. He felt so good in the year before he passed that he sneaked his footy gear to a game I was trainer for and they won... very stressful for this mumma, and then...his team went in to win the grand final. Levi, who I also dedicating my walk, played footy (aussie rules) with Joseph in under 12's. A beautiful boy and a beautiful family.
