Honouring Marion’s Memory

By Brian Osullivan

I'm fundraising for a great cause!

In lieu of flowers, we invite those who knew and loved Marion to consider making a donation to the Children’s Cancer Institute in her memory.

Marion lived a long and full life, blessed with 96 years surrounded by her five children, 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Our family is deeply grateful for the love, joy, and wisdom she shared with us across the generations.

As many of you know, Marion’s granddaughter Ella was diagnosed with leukaemia at just eight years old in 2013. Today, Ella is happy, healthy, and about to graduate as a nurse—thanks to decades of research and breakthroughs driven by the Children’s Cancer Institute. We believe Marion would want every child to have the same chance to grow up and live a long life.

Every week, 20 Australian children are diagnosed with cancer. There is usually no known cause. Years of harsh treatments can steal their childhood and leave lifelong side effects. The Children’s Cancer Institute is leading the way through its Zero Childhood Cancer program, working towards the day when it is not a question of if childhood cancer will be cured, but when.

If you feel inclined to contribute, a donation in Marion’s memory will support this vision of a world where every child gets the chance to live a long life—just as Marion did. Our family would be very grateful.
