I'm taking part in River's Race to raise funds for Children's Cancer Institute
River's Race is a community event in loving memory of River Watkins - and for all kids with DMG/DIPG.
River was diagnosed with DMG/DIPG a month before his 8th birthday. Devastatingly, River passed away less than 3 weeks after his diagnosis in the early hours of the morning after his birthday.
While there is no cure for DMG/DIPG, Children's Cancer Institute are making major inroads. For the first time ever, there is hope on the horizon for the families of children diagnosed with this disease. Let’s close the funding gap and change the future of kids with DMG.

For River, for their tomorrow
Saturday 15th Aug Sometimes life gives you a reason do do things that you never expected..For Me it’s for a little Boy named River..
River had DIPG aggressive childhood brain cancer, with no time to discover any form of hope for him to beat this dreaded disease. Instead my niece and her family had to try and make him feel safe, loved and happy for what was the worst days of their life, saying goodbye to their beautiful boy and brother just over 3 weeks from diagnosis.
Devastating for this family.
So heartbreaking to say the least for anyone to lose their child.
I am doing this for every child who deserves a tomorrow. River was not so lucky but it’s him that pushes forward for hope of a cure for this aggressive cancer in our kids.
