Fundraising in Loving Memory of Charlie Michel
We’re fundraising in honour of a very special young man, Charlie Michel. His courage, spirit and smile left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
To celebrate his life and legacy, we’re raising funds to support the Brain Tumour Group at Children’s Cancer Institute, led by Professor David Ziegler, who looked after Charlie.
A large part of Professor Ziegler and his team's research focuses on finding effective treatments for the fatal brain stem tumour Charlie suffered from - diffuse midline glioma.
Children’s Cancer Institute is the only independent medical research institute in Australia wholly dedicated to curing childhood cancer. Cancer kills more children than any other disease, which makes their work critical. With the brightest minds, world-class facilities, and an unrelenting determination, they are working every day to find better treatments—and ultimately, a cure.
Find out more about David and his team's world leading work hereYour donation will help drive forward this life-saving research and make a real difference for children diagnosed with brain cancer—now and into the future.
Thank you for your generosity, love and support during this time. Your kindness means the world.

Sending the Michel family all our love during this heartbreaking time. Jack and I remember Charlie coming along to Will's Saturday morning sports games with a cheeky smile and a glint of mischief in his eyes. All our love xoxo

Charlie was simply the best. Always first on the dance floor at a party, up for anything and eternally the optimist - he was wonderful friend and will be forever missed by us.
