Support my Challenge to Help Kids with Cancer!

I am taking part in 86K for a Cure to help find a cure for childhood cancer.

Every month, 86 children are diagnosed with cancer. There is usually no known cause, treatment can go on for many years and it puts an enormous strain on family life.

So I am conquering this challenge for the 86 children who are diagnosed with cancer each month.

Together, we can help find a cure for childhood cancer and create safer, more effective treatments.

Please DONATE NOW and support my challenge to change the lives of kids with cancer.

What’s the hardest in 10km run?

Sunday 22nd Mar
The hardest part of going for a run is still trying to figure out whether I should run outdoors or indoors on the treadmill, taking into consideration the weather, especially the UV. Whenever weather permits, I still prefer to run outdoors, as it is a better all-around workout for my legs and muscles with the undulating terrain. It is also a more immersive, experiential training of the senses. On my way back, I could smell the intoxicating aroma of freshly brewed coffee and bread, which reminded me that I was hungry. All in all, it was a nice 18-degree sunny morning for a 10km run in 70 minutes and 19 seconds.

3km brisk walk

Thursday 19th Mar
I followed up my 10km run with a 30mins 3km brisk walk.

Covid still around - 10km run

Thursday 19th Mar
So apparently COVID19 is still around and I have been told I have been exposed. I test negative twice and I thought I just do my own validation and did a 10km threadmill run in 64min 48sec. Felt fine so this is an added assurance to validate that the test kits as correct.

10km outdoor run

Monday 16th Mar
Coudn’t resist the cool morning breeze and 18degree Celsius temperature with a UV of 2. Did an outdoor 10km run in 68min 10secs at a pace of 6min49sec per km. That burnt about 3049KJ of energy which is almost 750calories.

Mt oberon - 8mar

Monday 9th Mar
The view on top of Mt Oberon. Mt Oberon is 355m high which happens to be exactly the same as Singapore’s highest hill, Bukit Timah Hill at 581ft. The 3.5km trek up takes 1 hour and expended 1720KJ. The trek down takes 48min and expended 866KJ. Total energy expended is 2586KJ. So the 1hr 48min (108min), 7km walk is roughly equivalent to my 65min, 9km run in KJ expended. Not a bad exercise.
