I am taking part in 86K for a Cure to help find a cure for childhood cancer.

Every month, 86 children are diagnosed with cancer. There is usually no known cause, treatment can go on for many years and it puts an enormous strain on family life.

So I am conquering this challenge for the 86 children who are diagnosed with cancer each month.

Together, we can help find a cure for childhood cancer and create safer, more effective treatments.

Why i signed up

Not that anyone really knows about this or cares all too much. i dont know anyone personally who has gotten cancer, but the people around the people around me have. ive seen what cancer does to people, its not a slow, peaceful way out. cancer tosses out from the comfort of land and into the frigid waters. you have to cling onto hope, a piece of rotting driftwood, waiting for help to arrive while you start to freeze alone. cancer is hard, noone should have to go through that battle knowing that early diagnosis can reduce the struggle significantly. the worst part of cancer that i see in people is the shame. the shame of not being yourself, being looked down by others, and the shame of your physicslly state. a child should not have to go through that, a naive soul unable to do wrong, a product of their environments , they were dragged cruelly into this world and are expected to just 'deal' with cancer when they are diagnosed with it. the other reason why i signed up aside from the effects of cancer is fear. fear of losing myself, it comes from a place of selfishness, and i want cancer to be eradicated for my good as well. cancer is my biggest fear and enemy not because it kills people, but how slowly and scornfully it does it, such a cruel thing does not deserve to exist.
