Each year in Australia, over 130 children are diagnosed with brain cancer. It is the second most common cancer in children and claims the lives of more children than any other disease. For some kinds of brain cancers, like G34-DHG cure rates are disappointingly low.
May is brain cancer awareness month and at the end of May this Lam(b) will be getting her fleece clipped to raise money for
Matty’s Hope.
Matty’s Hope is a research project conducted by the Children’s Cancer Institute into G34-DHG, a rare and aggressive brain cancer. This research project is the first of its kind in Australia. To find out more about Matty's Hope, please go to Matty's Hope - Research Update (youtube.com)
Your support of Matty's Hope makes research into G34-DHG
possible and moves us closer to understanding how brain cancer works and how it
can be treated, so that one day all children can go on to live long, healthy
lives.
All donations $2 or more are fully tax deductible in Australia.
Sharing a few photos of my Mad Little Lamb. Matt had an abundance of wavy black/brown hair, much like his mother. During the COVID lockdown, Matt’s hair got incredibly unruly. I offered to give him a haircut to which he graciously declined. However, Matt was never precious about his hair when it came to his sister, cousins and friends who found great enjoyment in styling it.
