From Fear to Purpose: Why I’m Doing the Snake Bath for Childhood Cancer

I'm diving headfirst into my courage zone... with a snake bath. Yes, you read that right. 🐍🛁

This year, I’m proud (and slightly terrified!) to be stepping up as an ambassador for CEO Dare to Cure, alongside my amazing Co-Founder Rich Hirst. Together, we’re daring to make a difference.

At Abundium, we are thrilled to be an affiliate partner of this truly purposeful initiative. It’s a cause very close to my heart. One of my son Huw’s dear friends, Jacob, is a survivor of leukaemia. We’ve seen firsthand the bravery, the heartbreak, and the hope that families go through, and this is our way of giving back.

The reality is confronting:
👉 Cancer still kills more children in Australia than any other disease.
👉 Every week, nearly three Australian children and adolescents will lose their lives to cancer.
👉 This year alone, over 1,000 families will hear the words “your child has cancer.”

I believe this is three too many.

That’s why I’ve agreed to take on a fear-fighting challenge in solidarity with the kids who face so much worse every single day. For me, that’s a snake bath. For them, it's countless treatments, needles, hospital visits, and unknowns.

✨ Just $5,000 can fund minimal residual disease testing for two children with leukaemia, potentially saving their lives by detecting the risk of relapse early.

So I’m asking: Please donate.
Not for me (I’ll survive the snakes!), yet for the kids who deserve a chance to grow up.

Because kids fighting cancer don’t need miracles.
They need medical research.
