Take on a challenge that matters
By taking part in CEO Dare to Cure 2025, you’ll be supporting groundbreaking research to develop safer, more targeted treatments, and helping get us one step closer to finding a cure for childhood cancer, once and for all.
Because facing a fear and taking on a challenge this October is nothing compared to what these brave kids and their families are going through every day.

About Children’s Cancer Institute
At Children’s Cancer Institute, our belief is that a life should be long. That every child should have the chance to grow up and grow old. To plan exciting futures, chase their dreams and fulfil their potential.
But cancer cuts life short for hundreds of children every year, before they’ve even had a chance to make their mark. Here in Australia, more than 1,000 children and adolescents are diagnosed with cancer every single year.
Today, thanks to medical research, around 85% of these children will survive their disease, but for some types of cancer, such as certain brain tumours, there are still no effective treatment options.
Cancer kills three children each week in Australia, and for those who do survive, two-thirds face the prospect of serious long-term health problems, including organ dysfunction, neurocognitive deficits, impaired fertility and secondary cancers.
By taking part in CEO dare for a Cure 2025, you'll be raising vital funds to support research to pioneer safer, more targeted treatments for children with cancer.
Children's Cancer Institute is the only independent medical research institute in Australia wholly dedicated to childhood cancer, our role is vital. With over 370 researchers, operational staff and students working towards our goal, Children’s Cancer Institute is the largest child cancer research organisation in the southern hemisphere.
We've made a lot of progress!
Last year, our courageous CEOs and business leaders in Sydney and Melbourne stepped up and raised an incredible $1.7 million for childhood cancer research, funding the equivalent of 16 senior researchers in our labs!
Thanks to our generous supporters, our research teams have been incredibly busy this year, and we've seen some exciting steps forward.

About ZERO
We lead the Zero Childhood Cancer Program (ZERO) in partnership with the Kids Cancer Centre at Sydney Children’s Hospital in Randwick, Sydney. ZERO is Australia’s first and most comprehensive child cancer precision medicine program.
ZERO combines cutting-edge science, the latest technological advances, and the brightest minds in research to offer even children with the most aggressive forms of cancer the best possible chance of survival.
The program has enrolled over 2,500 children with cancer in Australia, and through the program we are gaining more insight into the mechanisms causing cancers and developing more targeted treatment options.
We are pioneering safer, more target treatments for children with cancer so that more kids not only survive, but go on to live long, healthy lives.
