Support my Challenge to Help Kids with Cancer!

I am taking part in 86K for a Cure to help find a cure for childhood cancer.

Every month, 86 children are diagnosed with cancer. There is usually no known cause, treatment can go on for many years and it puts an enormous strain on family life.

So I am conquering this challenge for the 86 children who are diagnosed with cancer each month.

Together, we can help find a cure for childhood cancer and create safer, more effective treatments.

Please DONATE NOW and support my challenge to change the lives of kids with cancer.

My Updates

And so it begins

Sunday 1st Mar
Today begins my personal challenge for kids with cancer … what began as 86km of running for the month of March has now been revisited to 400km of swimming, running, riding and walking for the month of March. This challenge is important to me for many reasons. In 2007, I swam the English Channel in order to raise awareness and funds for the Children’s Cancer Institute Australia. Ricky Ponting and my brother James became the driving force behind my campaign. As a result of an incredible teams effort we raised $367000 for the CCIA and I succeeded in becoming the first Tasmanian “woman” to cross the channel. Since then, I have continued to support the CCIA and other fundraising campaigns that support children and their families who endure more than I could ever begin to imagine. What a fitting way to kickstart my campaign with a final lap of my 6km run around Howrah Primary School soccer and football ground in memory of George McNees who spent many happy moments here doing what he loved. Sarah, Darren and Arabella .. you are the driving force behind my efforts this month… I could never take away the ongoing sadness you face but my hope is to help others so they may not have to endure what you have and continue to do.

I am conquering 400km to help find a cure for childhood cancer.
