I am taking part in 86k for a Cure to help find a cure for childhood cancer
Did you know that every month, 86 children are diagnosed with cancer? That's 86 families who are suddenly thrust into the chaos and anxiety of oncology. Treatment can be grueling and lengthy, placing an enormous strain on family life. Parents endure heartache as they watch their children battle this devastating disease, and sadly, 12 of those 86 children will lose their lives.
But the impact doesn't stop there.Â
- Families are torn apart during lengthy hospital stays, spending countless hours away from home and work.
- Families are faced with the financial burden of medical bills, with many struggling to make ends meet as one or both incomes are lost.
- Families live with the daily load of uncertainty, never knowing what each day will bring.
- And let's not forget the siblings – brothers and sisters who are also affected by their sibling's illness, enduring their own emotional challenges.
