We’re shaving our heads for childhood cancer research!
One of the hardest things about watching a child you love go through cancer is feeling like there is so little you can actually do.
We’ve watched our beautiful girl, Alana, go through chemotherapy, blood tests, lumbar punctures, bone marrow biopsies and all the things that have now become part of her everyday life.
We’ve watched the treatment that is giving her the best chance of beating leukaemia also take a huge toll on her little body. We are incredibly grateful that these treatments exist. Without them, she wouldn’t have the chance she has today.
But we also believe our kids deserve better.
Better treatments that are more targeted. Better treatments that cause less damage to growing bodies. Better ways of treating childhood cancer that give children the best chance not only of surviving, but of growing up healthy and living full lives after cancer.
So, as people who love Alana very much, we wanted to do something.
We want to help fund the research that means one day a childhood cancer diagnosis doesn’t come with the same fear, uncertainty and toxicity that families face today.
