Your support in action

Every contribution helps us make breakthroughs and transform care for children with cancer, work we could only have dreamed of in the past.

Whether you’ve supported us before or are considering your first gift, a Regular Gift is the most powerful way to help. By giving monthly, you provide a reliable source of support that allows us to plan, innovate, and get closer to a future where every child survives cancer.

A life should be long. Your regular gift can make that future possible.

ZERO gave Carys a second chance

Thanks to the Zero Childhood Cancer Program, researchers were able to analyse the unique genetic profile of Carys’ disease and identify a rare subtype known as ph-like leukaemia. With this insight, her medical team completely transformed her treatment plan, introducing immunotherapy alongside a bone marrow transplant.

“If we didn’t have ZERO, she would have died. I want every child with cancer to have access to genomic testing, like Carys did. It could save their life like it has saved hers.”

ZERO to expand to help more young Australians

In March, the Australian Government committed $112.6 million to ensure ZERO remains available to all children with cancer - and to expand it to young people aged 19 to 25 with paediatric-type cancers, a group with historically poor outcomes.

But the momentum doesn't stop there. We are continuing to develop powerful new tools that are advancing personalised cancer care even further.

New hope for children with High-Risk Neuroblastoma

Our researchers have made a major breakthrough in the fight against neuroblastoma - discovering a way to significantly disrupt tumour growth and enhance response to existing therapies.

But the story of four year old Asher, reminds us why this research is so desperately needed.

Discovering a potential new approach for the deadliest childhood brain cancers

For children diagnosed with DIPG and other deadly brain cancers, treatment options have been devastatingly limited. Average survival is just 12 months after diagnosis.

Thanks to the support of regular donors, our researchers have achieved a major breakthrough, recently published in Science Translational Medicine.

This research is opening doors that were previously closed, offering hope where none existed before.

Make an extraordinary impact

Our community of passionate monthly donors provide our researchers with the stability they need to pursue long-term breakthroughs. Johan has been making monthly donations since 2007.

"Losing a childhood friend to leukaemia stayed with me all these years and it made me determined to help find cures. This is why supporting the research of Children's Cancer Institute really aligns."
