River's Race
A community event in loving memory of River Watkins - and for all kids with DMG.
River was an exceptional 8-year-old Mosman Park boy who loved to run. Join the race for a cure with us in our first River’s Race event!
Starting at Tom Perrott Reserve and finishing at Mann Oval, River’s Race is a 5km walk/run open to all ages and abilities.
There will be a finish line festival with lots of fun for the whole family.
Get your family or team together or go solo – there is no better way to spend a Sunday morning than taking in our beautiful neighbourhood and raising money for DMG/DIPG research.
Why it matters
DMG/DIPG has been described as the Mt Everest of cancers. Occurring in the midline of the brain and infiltrating the surrounding healthy tissue, these tumours are inoperable and untreatable. A finding of DMG/DIPG is the worst possible diagnosis for a child and their family as there is no hope – families are generally told to go home and make memories and the median survival time is 9 months. Let’s close the funding gap and change the future of kids with DMG.
How to register:
- Register for the race by setting up an account
- Create your personal fundraising page with a fundraising goal and start spreading the word!
