A life
should
be long.

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness
Month. Please donate today and help
us cure every child of cancer.

Every child should get the chance to grow up and grow old. To plan exciting futures, chase their dreams, and live a life that is full of possibilities.

But cancer cuts life short for hundreds of children every year. In Australia alone, every week, three young lives will be lost to the disease.

For over 40 years, Children’s Cancer Institute has been conducting research into the causes, prevention and cure of childhood cancer. We’ve made great progress, but we won’t stop until every child can live a long, happy and healthy life.

This Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, please support the research that will one day cure every child of cancer.

A life should be long.

Ryder was just 10 months old when his parents were given the devastating news that he had a rare and aggressive brain tumour known as ATRT. Results from the Zero Childhood Cancer Program (ZERO) revealed Ryder was born with a genetic mutation that is known to cause ATRT.

Ryder underwent intensive treatment including chemotherapy and radiation – made especially challenging given he was so young. Thankfully, a second surgery revealed that the treatment had been successful. The tumour was all dead and was able to be removed.

While the risk of relapse is high with this type of tumour, thankfully ZERO was able to identify a targeted therapy which aims to prevent the tumour from growing back. Ryder is now a happy, cheeky 4 year old and his parents look forward to seeing him enjoy a long and healthy life.

Please donate today, and help our research team to find more effective treatment options for kids like Ryder, and ultimately a cure for every child with cancer.

We’re very grateful for ZERO and the research that’s been done to help children like Ryder. Without that, we probably wouldn’t have our little boy here right now.
