Join us to find a cure for childhood cancer

Right now, more than 1,000 children are diagnosed with cancer every year, and cancer kills more children than any other disease in Australia.

Create a fundraiser and join our community to stand in solidarity with these brave kids and their families. With your support, we can show them they are not alone and honour those lives we’ve lost too soon.

We can and we will cure every child of cancer. It’s not if, it’s when.

Head Shave for a Cure

Inspired by Rahul’s partner who survived leukaemia as a child, Ben and Rahul shaved their heads to support childhood cancer research.

Together they raised $2,070 by shaving their heads on a Facebook live event.

They are driven by a commitment to help improve outcomes for kids facing their own challenges, as they understand the emotional and physical toll childhood cancer takes on the children and the family around them.

“Taking part in a head shave for Children’s Cancer Institute was deeply personal for us. Shaving our heads live on Facebook wasn’t just symbolic - it was about sparking conversations and driving change.”

-Ben

CrossFit for a Cure

The CrossFit community hosted Calories Against Childhood Cancer in honour of Aria Zimmerman, a beautiful 5-year-old girl who lost her battle with childhood cancer.

Teams of four participants were challenged to burn as many bike, row, ski, and run calories as possible within a 90-minute window.

Each team was charged a $40 entry fee to take part.

The event raised $44,154 to support childhood cancer research.

“This event allowed us to show what the fitness community can do when we rally together. We want to fight for every child who deserves a future.”

Sausage Sizzle for a Cure

Alisha and Brendan held a Bunning Sausage Sizzle and Cake stall to honour the memory of their son Huxley, who lost his battle with childhood cancer.

The couple reached out to local bakeries and a fruit market, as well as Woolworths and Coles to help provide food and drinks, and rallied friends and family to help throughout the day.

The event raised $4,105 through the generous support of their local community.

“This event represents so much more than the dollars raised - it's about raising awareness, building community, and keeping Huxley's legacy alive while fighting for every child battling cancer, both now and in the future.”

- Alisha

Your impact

At Children's Cancer Institute, we believe that a life should be long. That every child should have the chance to grow up and grow old.

But cancer cuts life short for hundreds of children each year. In Australia alone, more than 1,000 children and adolescents are diagnosed annually.

Today, thanks to medical research, over 85% of children will survive their disease. But tragically, cancer cuts life short for three children every week in Australia, and for many survivors, life is forever impacted by serious long-term health issues.

By joining Together for a Cure, you're funding groundbreaking research to develop safer, more targeted treatments for children with cancer so that more kids not only survive, but go on to live long, healthy lives.
